To provide training and professional development opportunities for professionals working in the field of workplace safety. But also to foster a culture of safety that evolves from a regulatory obligation into an everyday practice, a shared sense of responsibility, and a preventive approach that spreads from construction sites to schools, within families and throughout the wider community. These are the aims of the initiatives that the Regolino Foundation is promoting in Castelfiorentino as part of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, with two events scheduled (one in the afternoon and one in the evening) at the Teatro del Popolo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first event (6.00 p.m.) is a training seminar aimed specifically at technical professionals (engineers, architects, surveyors and health and safety officers) and is eligible for professional development credits. It will be attended by professionals and experts who will offer diverse and complementary perspectives on the topic of workplace safety, with the aim of moving beyond the regulatory approach and exploring the cultural and human dimensions. Speakers will include Fabio Ciaponi (President of the Regolino Foundation) on the topic \u201cWorkplace safety: from right and obligation to a principle of the individual\u201d, engineer Alessio Masoni (an expert in working at height and roof safety) with a talk on \u201cLearning to get home safely\u201d, focusing on the importance of applying knowledge of regulations to practical behaviour, and finally Cinzia Vilucchi (author of the book \u201cBeyond Pain\u201d), who will share a personal account of a real-life case (register for the seminar at www.fondazioneregolino.it<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This evening (9.00 p.m., free admission), a world premiere theatre performance open to the public entitled \u201cThe Day After\u201d: a deeply moving production that explores the consequences of workplace accidents through the eyes of the families and those who are injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An invitation to reflect on the importance of prevention and the human dimension that lies behind the accident statistics. An intense, moving narrative, written by Tommaso Santi and performed by Andrea Bacci and Massimo Bonechi. At the end of the evening \u2013 which is sponsored by the Region of Tuscany, the Municipality of Castelfiorentino and the Union of Municipalities of the Empolese Valdelsa District \u2013 it will be possible to make a voluntary donation in support of the Regolino ETS Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWorkplace safety,\u201d notes the Mayor, Francesca Giann\u00ec, \u201cis not merely a topical issue but represents a genuine social emergency, which we will address on 28 April with this day dedicated to training and professional development for all those who, across various professional fields, are involved in prevention work and are responsible for ensuring compliance with current regulations. In addition to this, a change in mindset is also needed when it comes to risk management, because accidents can sometimes occur simply because operators themselves underestimate the risks. I would like to thank the Regolino Foundation, starting with its president, Fabio Ciaponi, for their willingness to organise this training seminar in Castelfiorentino, with an evening event open to all residents\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe believe it is essential,\u201d notes Fabio Ciaponi, president of the Regolino Foundation, \u201cto bring workplace safety back to the forefront of the cultural debate: regulations alone are no longer enough. For over 30 years, there have been around three deaths a day. This is why we want to complement technical training with an approach capable of raising individual awareness and bringing about lasting behavioural change. Safety is first and foremost a way of thinking, and then of acting. The Foundation uses unconventional formats to foster this change in mindset, putting people at the centre. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence for Sustainability at the Free University of Bolzano, it has established the Safety Observatory: not only to promote a culture of prevention, but also to measure its effectiveness. The aim is to assess how these tools impact risk perception, individual responsibility, organisational culture and the social capital of businesses, right down to the concrete effects on accidents, absenteeism and costs. In this way, prevention becomes a process based on data and evidence, capable of generating real cultural and behavioural change\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
