“S Trip, La strada si-cura” closes the paint cans. And celebrates the first step of urban regeneration with the inauguration of the intervention of “tactical urbanism” made at the “Belvedere” of Viale Duca d’Aosta, known by young people as the “roundabout”. On Saturday, February 12th, at 11.30 am, the ribbon will be cut for the space located at the beginning of Via Duca d’Aosta, a path and at the same time a reference point for the students of the “F. Enriques” Institute who cross it from the bridge over the Elsa River to reach the school campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The area, which was somewhat anonymous, was in fact the focus of a series of temporary colors, with the aim of making it more beautiful and pleasant for the people who use it daily. This intervention was in fact one of the main requests made by the students, who participate in the project “S Trip – La strada si-cura”, promoted by the Municipality of Castelfiorentino with the contribution of the Region of Tuscany and realized by “Narrazione Urbane with the involvement of the “F. Enriques” Institute. Today, the “Belvedere” has changed its appearance, to the curiosity and delight of passers-by. From now on, the temporary coloring will allow people to experience a new way of seeing and using this space, which has already begun its second life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The inauguration of the space will be attended by the Councillor for Urban Decor, Alessio Onnis, the headmaster of the Institute “F. Enriques”, Barbara Degl’Innocenti, and a delegation of students from the Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are very happy with this result – observes Councillor Alessio Onnis – both for the collaboration with the Enriques Institute and for its effects on our territory. The redevelopment of this area is the conclusion of a project that has involved the students, who have felt fully involved in the personalization and regeneration of a path that they live every day. I believe that this is one of the most interesting elements of the project, which I believe will have further developments in the near future”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the cultural association Cetra will hold a workshop for children aged 4 to 11 years entitled “S..Culture in citt\u00e0”, to create original installations in iron wire to be hung on the terrace of the “Belvedere”, and also in memory of the ancient factory of “Ferruzzino”, which was located in the past along the street. The students will instead be the protagonists of a mural writing activity through Stencil, starting to give shape to some phrases chosen by themselves and voted in the assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As you may recall, the “S Trip” project aims to improve the sense of safety of the stretch between the train station and the Enriques school complex, transforming it into a lively and pleasant path to be frequented, thus building a sense of common belonging to the territory. Increasing the overall vitality of these streets can be, in fact, one of the best deterrents to the mechanisms of insecurity and petty crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
