A football tournament in memory of Riccardo and Alessio, two young Juventus stars tragically involved in an accident at the Vinovo (TO) sports centre in 2006. But also an opportunity to raise funds that will be used to support ‘special’ children in need of care. This is, in a nutshell, the noble objective of the 16th Riccardo Neri and Alessio Ferramosca Memorial, scheduled in the stadiums of Castelfiorentino and Gambassi Terme from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May.
Promoted by the non-profit association Riccardo Neri and Alessio Ferramosca with the patronage of the municipalities of Castelfiorentino, Gambassi Terme, Montaione, Certaldo and Empoli, the Memorial will be presented on Friday evening (24 May, 8.30 p.m.) during a dinner that will be held at the Boscotondo Restaurant in Gambassi Terme, during which awards will be presented to personalities who have distinguished themselves in the world of sport and sports journalism (reservations: directly at the restaurant or +39 335.290800, +39 338.7748533).
On Sunday 26 May, the finals will be played. In Gambassi Terme those for 9th and 7th place (starting at 3.00 pm), the others in the stadium of Castelfiorentino (starting at 4.00 pm), where at 7.00 pm the prize-giving of all participating teams is scheduled. In addition to the families of the two young men, the city authorities will be present. As it will be remembered, the Castelfiorentino stadium was named in 2016 after Riccardo Neri, who had started playing football in the Castelfiorentino youth team when he was six years old.
