An unmissable appointment for enthusiasts, but also an event that every year invites visitors to rediscover the beauty of the Valdelsa hillside. This, in a nutshell, is the programme of the 39th “City of Castelfiorentino” motor rally, which will take place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April, starting from Piazza Cavour.
About 300 bikers are expected, coming from various Italian regions.
Organised by the Moto Club Castelfiorentino with the patronage of the municipality, the event is valid for both the Tuscan and Italian tourism championships, and will kick off on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. with the start of registration in Piazza Cavour. This will be followed by a lunch break in an affiliated restaurant and, at the end of registration, the start around 5:45 p.m. with the first tour of the hills (Montespertoli side) where there will be an aperitif and, in the evening, dinner in an affiliated restaurant in Castelfiorentino.
On Sunday 6 April, after registration (from 9:00 a.m. to noon, again in Piazza Cavour), motorcyclists will ride through the streets of the town centre, heading towards Montaione, San Vivaldo, and finally Boscotondo, where lunch and the awards ceremony will be held, both for the various participating motorbike clubs and for individual enthusiasts (drivers and passengers).
Mechanical assistance and an ambulance service will be available during the event.
“Every year”, observes the Deputy Mayor with responsibility for Sport, Fabio Tinti, “the MotoClub Castelfiorentino organises this rally, which is punctually attended by hundreds of enthusiasts from all over Italy. In addition to representing an event that arouses interest and curiosity among citizens, it also performs a not inconsiderable function in making the beauty of the Lower Valdelsa hills known, thus bringing added value also in terms of tourist promotion. I would therefore like to thank Alfiero Stazzoni, together with other Motoclub members and sponsors, who have always organised and supported it with great passion and commitment”.
