A spring under the sign of rebirth. With Sunday appointments, events, the desire to get out of the house, and also through the rediscovery of some clubs whose existence was known in the past only to very few enthusiasts. This is the case of the “Vespa Club Castelfiorentino”, present in the Sixties but of which all traces had been lost, and which on Sunday 20th March will be baptized again for its second “life” on the occasion of “Melodie di Primavera”, an event promoted by the association of CCN Tre Piazze and Confesercenti with the patronage of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino.

An appointment which is the first of the new management of Paolo Antilli (new president of “Tre Piazze”) and which will see the shops open for the whole day, in conjunction with a series of initiatives organised by the associations of Castelfiorentino. From the morning, an AVIS stand will be set up in Piazza Gramsci (with pancakes, candyfloss and balloons) and from midday onwards the association “Amici di Castello” will be organising “Una pianta per l’Ucraina”, an event aimed at raising funds for the Ukraine emergency. A flower exhibition is also planned.

Old “500” cars will be on display in the streets of the old town centre, organised by the “Fiat 500 Valdelsa Certaldo Castelfiorentino” group, while in Piazza Gramsci there will be a rally by the “Vespa Club Castelfiorentino”, which brings together enthusiasts from Castelfiorentino who have always been very close to their “cousins” from Empoli.

Many years have passed before we reached this moment,” observed Alessandro Dimasi, vice-president of the “Vespa Club Castelfiorentino”, “there have been many rallies and wonderful friendships have been born, such as those with members of the Vespa Club Empoli. We would like to thank our mechanics, such as the Martini family, and Alberto Vignoli, because without him we would never have known about the historic club from the 1960s. We want to offer the opportunity of a breath of youth to those who drove these vehicles before us, and to help the girls and boys of today discover this world”.

In the afternoon, from 4.30 p.m. onwards, the Filarmonica “G. Verdi” will perform a concert with songs from soundtracks of all times, and the association “La voce di Una è la Voce di Tutte” will inaugurate a yellow bench with the aim of raising awareness among young women and their families of the importance of correct prevention of endometriosis.

“This is the first party we are organising this year – underlines Paolo Antilli, president of the CCN “Tre Piazze” association – and we are very happy to be able to do it in a relationship of close collaboration with the associations of Castelfiorentino, also to give a signal and strengthen this network in view of the organisation and promotion of all future events”.

“I would like to thank the President and the entire board of the ‘Tre Piazze’ association,” added the Councillor for Commerce, Simone Bruchi, “for the commitment and enthusiasm they are putting into the relaunch and revitalisation of the historic centre.
