Opening of the exhibition as part of the 40th anniversary of the Photographic Group “Red Lily”

“Color dresses and reveals the world. It is the emotions that color has revealed to you that make you a throb of life.” Awe, passion, fear, joy, love: states of mind that find in colors an evocative representation, to tell and speak about themselves much more than words. This is the calling card of “Color of Life,” a photographic exhibition by Mariella Mazzini Migliorini, which will be open starting Saturday, July 2 (10 a.m.) at the Events Space of the Recreational Club “Il Progresso” (Corso Matteotti 19).

Promoted by the Photographic Group “Giglio Rosso” (of which Mariella Mazzini is a founding member) under the patronage of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino as part of the initiatives called for the 40th anniversary of the association, the exhibition presents about 40 shots that tell the emotions through colors, particular images very close to the artistic expression and sensitivity of the author

“All things animate and inanimate,” Mariella Mazzini Migliorini observes, “whisper with mysterious voices and light expands their strength. Beyond the night, through the hail of stars, slow as a symphony stretches a silver line and the line becomes space and the space leads inside your heart. There the gift of color becomes powerful and lets you know the joy of playing with time and shapes, above the world and its fears. The thunder of cliffs and the thrum of seagulls, the races of children, voices and laughter echo hidden and unveiled by color and tell endless stories.”

“We are honored,” observes Deputy Mayor with proxy for Culture, Claudia Centi, “to sponsor this beautiful exhibition by Mariella Mazzini Migliorini, which reveals the power of color in representing our emotions, almost a reportage on our inner life that sometimes finds no better channels of expression and representation. An event promoted by the photographic group Giglio Rosso, of which Mariella has always been a member, and to which she has often offered her collaboration in the past for numerous editorial initiatives.”

Mariella Migliorini Mazzini has always combined her passion for photography with that for poetry. In addition to some of her personal collections (such as “Il segreto dei silenzi”), she has collaborated on the publication of photography books by Antonio D’Ambrosio (“Elsa, un fiume”), Remo Taviani (“Valdelsa, i mille volti dell’anima”) and Matteo Di Stefano. Some of her lyrics have been selected and included in various anthologies and magazines. For many years, Mariella held management positions at the National Central Library of Florence (Music and Consultation Room) in which she collaborated as curator of numerous exhibition events, including an exhibition of Gaetano Pieraccini.

The exhibition “The Color of Life” will remain open until Sunday, July 10, observing the following hours: Saturday 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Sunday and weekdays 5:30-7:30 p.m.
