The students took care of the entire graphic promotion of the event (scheduled for Nov. 19-20) and will present their proposals in an exhibition opening Saturday, Nov. 5.
They have taken care of the entire graphic design of the event, starting with the logo. And now they are ready to present their entries in an exhibition, which will be inaugurated on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. in the “event space” of the Recreational Cultural Circle “The Progress” (Corso Matteotti).
The protagonists are the students of the “F. Enriques” Institute, who have dedicated themselves to promoting the historical re-enactment of the “Peace after Montaperti,” scheduled to take place in Castelfiorentino on Nov. 19-20, as part of a competition promoted by the City of Castelfiorentino in the spring of this year.
Coordinating the project was Prof. Luisella Giacomini, who after a propaedeutic meeting with Dr. Alessandro Spinelli engaged the students of the “Visual Communication and Advertising Design” major in the creation of graphic designs, particularly the Logo and Poster for the event.
The proposals were then examined by a Jury: the winner was the Logo created by Federico Porcedda (class 5A), a happy synthesis between the images of the historical Curtain of the Teatro del Popolo (which depicts precisely the Peace after Montaperti), that of the “Castrum Florentinum” in medieval times, the coats of arms of the Guelphs and Ghibellines, and the historical date of the treaty (“A.D. XXV Novembre”). The best poster, on the other hand, was created by Lara Capezzuoli (class 5B). As for the logo, prizes will also be awarded to the 2nd and 3rd place winners. However, all entries will be visible within the exhibition set up in the “event space” in Corso Matteotti from Saturday, Nov. 5 until Sunday, Nov. 13 (opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 9-12, 16-19).
“We are really satisfied with the work carried out by the Enriques students,” notes Deputy Mayor in charge of Culture/Events Claudia Centi, “the result of a happy union between school education and our territory. It was really difficult for us to establish a ranking, as all the entries were truly excellent from a graphic point of view, confirming the quality of the educational offerings of our High School. Therefore, I would like to thank the Head of School, Prof. Barbara Degl’Innocenti, who enthusiastically welcomed our competition, and Prof. Luisella Giacomini, who dedicated herself to it with a truly commendable effort. Therefore, I invite citizens to visit the exhibition in the meantime, as a preview to the event we will hold in Castelfiorentino on November 19-20.”
“I am truly happy and satisfied with the results achieved by our children,” notes Enriques school principal Barbara Degl’Innocenti, “in a project connected to the re-enactment of the Peace after Montaperti, a page of history that is not only local but national in which Castelfiorentino was a protagonist. Our school is proud to have contributed to the enhancement of this event, and therefore I thank Prof. Luisella Giacomini, dean of the address, and our students who have worked hard to recover this historical and cultural tradition that makes them feel even more involved and active in their territory. I also thank the City Administration for the opportunities it has always offered our school to be an active and vital part of the culture of this city.”
