An opportunity for parents to get to know the early childhood education services in depth. With the possibility of making virtual visits to the “La Tana del Sole” and “Il Raggio di Luna” nurseries, for which enrolment for the 2025-2026 school year will be open from Tuesday 1 April. This is the aim of the “Il Castello dei piccoli” initiative scheduled for Saturday 5 April (10:00 a.m.) at the Ridotto del Teatro del Popolo, during which the services that from September will welcome 92 boys and girls in an age range of three months to three years will be illustrated.
On this occasion, parents of children already enrolled in the “Panda” and those interested in enrolling children for the next educational year will be able to learn about the new organisation of services, the pedagogical project and the educational staff. Special attention will be paid to the presentation of the Municipal Administration’s educational policies in favour of childhood, starting with the expansion of the availability of places and the upgrading of educational spaces, with virtual visits to “La Tana del Sole” in via De Gasperi (72 places) and “Il Raggio di Luna” in via Leonardo Da Vinci (20 places).
The programme includes a welcome address by the Mayor, Francesca Giannì, the presentation of the educational offer “in the legacy of Enzo Catarsi” by the Councillor for Educational Policies, Marta Longaresi, a virtual tour of the nurseries with interventions by the pedagogical coordinator Sabrina Gori and Dr Barbara Tosi (Spazio Arredo). This was followed by the interventions of the service educators and the reflections shared with the families.
“5 April”, emphasises the Councillor for Educational Policies, Marta Longaresi, “will be an opportunity to share the Administration’s policies in favour of children and their families. A commitment aimed at offering them new quality educational opportunities. The event will be open to citizens and parents interested in enrolling their children in our services. During the course of the morning, both parents already enrolled and those potentially interested will be able to see the organisation of the new spaces, get to know their pedagogical project and the educational staff who look after our services with great professionalism and competence”.
Enrolment for the 2025-2026 expires on 30 April. This deadline is extended to 31 May for children born in May 2025. Applications must be completed online by connecting to the website of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino www.comune.castelfiorentino.fi.it on the highlighted page and using the link on the home page ‘Iscrizioni on line servizi scolastici’. Interested parents may also visit “Panda” nursery in Via de Gasperi on Saturday 12 April from 10:00 a.m. to noon and on 28 April from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., where they will have the opportunity to learn more about the services’ educational project together with the teachers.
