Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 may in Castelfiorentino (FI) Agricultural Festival in the Empolese Valdelsa, with market of typical product,performance and remembrance of rural life, practice demonstration and didatic laboratories.
Rediscovery of the value of the heart and the typical local products: a big festival of Agriculture and farmers, in which they fuse together in a virtuous tradition, innovation, transmission of the “knoledge” and perspective of development. This is the business card of “Agricola”, manifestation of the Empolese Valdesa dedicated to agriculture, that after two years of stop due to the pandemic will return for reflourish in Castelfiorentino (FI) Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May.
The manifestation program, which is promoted by the Association Farmers and the Municipality of Castelfiorentino, in collaboration with the CIA and the Coldiretti (Exponent organization) and the patronage of the Union of Municipalities District Empolese Valdelsa, of the Region and of the Regional Council of Tuscany,It was presented this morning in the press room of the Regional Council. There were speech from the president of the Regional Council of Tuscany, Antonio Mazzeo,the Mayor of Castelfiorentino, Alessio Falorni,the Councillor for Agriculture of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino, Alessio Onnis, the secretary of the Farmers’Association of Castelfiorentino, Rosanna Spinelli, and then Francesca Parri (Exponent).
The Festival – that is always an opportunity for discussion and debate on topical issues affecting the primary sector- will take place in the sports area of Viale Roosevelt and will be introduced Saturday afternoon (at 5:30 pm) from a conference at the Hostel “Locanda d’Elsa”dedicated to“Politica Agricola comune (PAC) 2023-2026. Confronti e opportunità in un momento storico” with the greetings of the Mayors Falorni and the Councillor of agriculture Onnis and the interventions of the representatives of CIA (Salvatori Enrichetti, responsible technician service central Tuscany service) and Coldiretti (Luca Baldassini, responsible inter-provincial Firenze-Prato).
Always in Saturday afternoon, it is in program the exposure of “Orti in Cassetta”realized by the students of the comprehensive school (over 150 participants) as part of an educational didact project aimed at involving the new generations in the cultivation of a large range of products, which are then included in the menu of the school canteen.The certificates of participation will be given to the students and at the same time there will be a moment dedicated to old games (“Agrigiochi”) organized by Polisportiva I’Giglio. Also, from Saturday afternoon and for the entire Sunday an exhibition of over 100 agricultural machines (vintage and nex technology) will invade the green areas of the festival.
Sunday 8 May (at 9 am) opening of the stands of the exhibition market of local products, for which about fifty exhibitors are expected, among the farms, nurseries and old profession.
