Five nights of music without boundaries: from rap to electronic, from pop to 90s music. The countdown has begun for one of the most eagerly awaited and vibrant events of the summer season. From 10 to 14 September, Castelfiorentino will host the “FDB FESTIVAL” (stadium area – Viale Roosevelt), now in its sixth edition, during which every evening you can immerse yourself in the crowd to enjoy live concerts full of pure energy, have fun with the attractions of the Luna Park, and sample the thousands of delicacies on offer in the street food area, accompanied as usual by a wide selection of craft beers. Admission to all concerts is completely free. The festival – organised by the cultural association “Gogamagoga” thanks to the support of numerous local sponsors and the patronage of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino – will kick off on Wednesday 10 September (6:00 p.m.) with the opening of the food area and the Luna Park, giving rise to an explosion of joy and cheer with breathtaking attractions for all ages, from adults to children.
Unique flavours from all over Italy will make this year’s food offering particularly appetising: from sweet and spicy black pork ribs from Puglia to Calabrian sausage and mortadella with sardella and provola cheese; from octopus sandwiches to paella; from fried calamari and prawns to seafood tripe sandwiches; from Abruzzo arrosticini to cheddar chips, accompanied by bacon and a thousand unmissable sauces; and more, including grilled cockerel, Chianina beef burgers, artisan pulled pork, and Roman cacio e pepe meatballs. There will also be desserts such as crepe sushi, Nutella crepes, craft beers on tap and a gin bar with a selection of premium gins, as befits the identity of the event, which has now taken on the appearance of a real “festival”.
In the evening (9:00 p.m.), the first live concert with BNKR44, the revelation band of the new Italian scene, ready to win over the audience with their overwhelming music. Following that (Thursday, 11 September), an event not to be missed with Silent Bob & Sick Budd, who will perform a live show full of sharp lyrics and powerful beats that are sure to leave their mark. Friday 12 September will be a legendary evening with Metempsicosi, Dinosaurus tour, great protagonists of Italian electronic music! At the console: Mario Più, Ricky Le Roy, Joy Kitikonti, Oozicky, Luca Pechino. Saturday 13 September (9:00 p.m.) will feature Italy’s most beloved live show: ‘Voglio tornare negli anni “90” (I want to go back to the 90s), with its catchy rhythms and unique songs that appeal to all generations, from young people to adults, to those who want to relive the memories of an unforgettable era. The grand finale on Sunday 14 September features Coma Cose, one of the most original projects on the Italian scene, ready to thrill Castelfiorentino with an intense and engaging live performance!
And that’s not all. In addition to the big-name artists already confirmed, the Festival will also feature emerging bands and local DJs, who will liven up the opening and closing nights, offering the audience an even richer and more engaging experience. On Sunday 14 September, for example, the evening will be opened by “Incubo!”, a young and promising band from Empoli that is gaining increasing popularity. But there will be more than just music: the FDB Festival will also feature many side events that will enrich the programme, with car tuning rallies, the famous Panda rally, as well as presentations by Castelfiorentino’s sports teams and many other activities designed to engage and entertain audiences of all ages.
“Our goal”, write the festival organisers, Luca Canaj, Enrico Ticciati and Yazid Zenarti, “is to create a festival that is not just a musical event, but a real meeting place, where people can come together to enjoy music, food, drinks and entertainment”.
“The FDB Festival”, emphasises Mayor Francesca Giannì, “opens the door to a real revolution for an event that began as a “beer festival”. The young people’s intention is to transform this festival into a high-quality music festival, capable of attracting more and more young people and citizens from other municipalities in the Empolese Valdelsa area and beyond. To achieve this goal, the organisers have focused on a musical programme that aims to involve nationally renowned artists, combining the needs of young people with those of a wider audience. As an administration, we are happy to support this group of young people who are constantly engaged in organising events for young people and families. We would like to remind everyone that this festival has always been an event for everyone, young and old alike, to spend carefree evenings outdoors in good company.
