Sport, Volunteering, Agriculture and Associations in the Roosevelt Avenue park area. Sports demonstrations, re-enactments of traditional crafts and games in the farmyard, associations and volunteering, workshops

An afternoon to enjoy each other’s company, but also to try out some sports or perhaps take part in a survival course. A festival where you can watch demonstrations of games and ancient crafts, learn about the many facets of the various associations in the castle, and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of volunteering. This and much more is what “Festa Insieme 2025” has to offer, an event that brings together numerous associations involved in sport, volunteering, prevention and agriculture, which will take place on Sunday 7 September in the Viale Roosevelt Park area (4pm-7pm).

Organised by Polisportiva I’Giglio and the Castelfiorentino Farmers’ Association (with the patronage of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino), “Festa Insieme 2025”, now in its 9th edition, once again benefits from the valuable collaboration of numerous Castelfiorentino associations, presenting a rich and diverse programme. The festival area will feature stands set up by the associations and various activities open to all ages. In this regard, children (among the protagonists of the festival) will receive a flyer at the entrance with a route to follow: those who complete it will receive a gadget offered by Polisportiva I’Giglio as a souvenir of the event.

Polisportiva I’Giglio (Polisportiva in Festa 11th edition) will organise sports exhibitions with the opportunity to try disciplines such as athletics, artistic gymnastics, karate and self-defence, kickboxing, boxing, tennis, padel, survival, tug-of-war, women’s football, bocce, beach volleyball, there will also be Baskin, men’s five-a-side football, Hata Yoga, and the Karma Boys (DSM Rehabilitation Group football team). A major new feature of this edition is the participation of the CONI Regional Committee of Tuscany with the Associated Sports Disciplines (D.S.A.) as well as a representation of the D.S.A. in the afternoon. In the morning, there will be an amateur chess and orienteering tournament, while at around 5 p.m., the CONI Toscana Regional School will host a discussion with experts in the field on “Parent-child relationships in youth sports”: a meeting open to representatives of sports organisations and families, aimed at strengthening the value of parents in the relational dynamics of their athlete children.

The Castelfiorentino Farmers’ Association will host a real ‘Festa sull’Aia’ (10th edition) with demonstrations of ancient crafts such as threshing with a flail, making traditional baskets, candles and woodworking, as well as tractor rides and the “Orto in Cassetta” workshop, which previews the project that will restart in autumn in primary schools, having always been very popular with the pupils of the Comprehensive School.

Also worth mentioning are the important initiatives of the other participating associations: La Misericordia Castelfiorentino and Protezione Civile (Prociv Arci) will introduce visitors to the world of emergency healthcare, the equipment used and their activities. A free paediatric first aid course will be held, and children will be able to enjoy a unique adventure searching for a missing stuffed rabbit. They will also learn the basics of first aid, and each mini-rescuer will receive a special certificate. The AVIS Comunale Castelfiorentino, in addition to promoting the importance of blood and plasma donation, will enliven the afternoon by making Rificolone lanterns with children, in preparation for the parade scheduled after dinner in the town centre (accompanied by the notes of the “G. Verdi” Philharmonic) arriving in Piazza Gramsci where there will be games and balloons for everyone. Caritas (in collaboration with SDS) will set up an information point to promote the “Play4Fun” project to raise awareness and support citizens on the risks associated with gambling, promoting advice and concrete actions for the prevention and treatment of gambling disorder, which affects many families and is becoming a real social scourge.

Also present will be AUSER Castelfiorentino, the ‘GIGLIO ROSSO’ Photography Group, FRATRES, PRO LOCO Castelfiorentino and other associations, whom the organisers would like to thank for their valuable collaboration and contribution to the success of the Festival, together with the Municipal Administration of Castelfiorentino.
