The magic of Christmas is ignited in Castelfiorentino. A Community Christmas, over thirty-five events including Christmas music and carols, theatre performances and photo sets, children’s games and attractions, concerts and gospel music, Elves and “Babbi” Natales (on bikes and horseback) interpreted in the most unexpected ways. Finally, an unmissable “Via dei Presepi”, which presents numerous new features this year. E’ this is the calling card of “Castellano Christmas”, which starting from Saturday 29th, with the lighting of the lights, the luminous nativity scene and the opening of the market stalls, will enliven the streets of the natural shopping centre and the upper historic centre through a sequence of events that starting from Sunday 30th November will make the Christmas atmosphere particularly rich and well-attended, thanks to the involvement of over twenty local associations (open shops).
With “Circo Wow” (Sunday, November 30) there will be the “Wheel of the Holidays”, board games for children, an inflatable Santa Claus for the little ones, “the Enigmi” area, with many puzzles and mysteries to solve, and a “Treasure Hunt” that will take place in some clearly recognizable locations, scattered throughout Piazza Gramsci, Corso Matteotti, Via Garibaldi and Via Bovio. On Saturday, December 6th, a “Grand Christmas Parade” will take place through the streets of the center with the captivating choreography of the artistic gymnastics students and the music of the Philharmonic “G. Verdi” and the participants of the Contrade del Palio, until reaching Piazza Gramsci where the maxi-sized Christmas tree will be lit near the Obelisk. On Sunday, December 7th, there will be “Santa and Mamma Natale”, a surprise game in search of Santa Claus through four different stations, and in the evening a Dream Floyd concert at the Teatro del Popolo. On Monday 8 December there will be an appointment with readings and Christmas carols, the chestnut festival curated by Avis and the inauguration at the Arco della Costa de “The Street of Nativity Scenes”, with over forty artistic and artisanal nativity scenes scattered throughout the upper historic centre: among the new features is a “technological” nativity scene which will not fail to amaze, also because you will have to play to be able to turn it on and admire it in all its beauty
Between Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December over ten events including the Christmas Carols of the Castellano Opera Choir, the Letters to Santa Claus, the photography set at the Oratory of San Carlo, Santa’s House with TeatroCastello, a tourist itinerary (Christmas in art) a Santa Claus “among Elves and Horses”, the “Santa Clauses” on the “La Rotonda” bike and the “loud” Christmas ones. Wednesday 17th appointment with “Christmas Gospel” at the Church of Santa Maria della Marca. On Saturday the 20th, there will be a Christmas workshop at the “Christmas House”, the “Traveling Bagpipes” and the show “The Nutcracker” at the Teatro del Popolo, while on Sunday the 21st, in addition to some events already present the previous Sunday, there will also be the “Lancio del Panforte” and a performance by the music school. And it’s not over because the Christmas program will resume on December 27th with a concert by the Amici della Lirica and many other events until Epiphany.
