On Sunday, 15 February 2026 (at 1 p.m.) in the “Santa Maria della Marca” hall, all citizens are invited to lend a hand in setting up the next edition.
Everyone to the table to support “La Via dei Presepi”. On Sunday, 15 February (1 p.m.), “All’Ombra di Membrino” Association invites citizens to a lunch in the hall of “Santa Maria della Marca”, the proceeds of which will be used by the organisers to set up the next edition. The cost of the lunch is £20 and includes a full menu with appetisers (potato and melted cheese flan, cold cuts, crostini), two first courses (polenta with meat sauce, pasta with pesto), a second course (mixed roast), side dish (“lots of chips”), water, wine, dessert (apple strudel with warm cream), sparkling wine, coffee and “maybe even some live music” (reservations by Friday 13 February on +39 339.5271770 Marco, or +39 347.6301348).
Following the success of last year’s initiative, which was widely supported by the public, next Sunday’s lunch is not only a way to raise funds for the event (which, once again, impressed with the originality and artistic quality of its creations), but also and above all an opportunity to get together and discuss ideas, projects and proposals that may come from all participants.
The association “All’Ombra di Membrino”, which since its inception has always been open to people who want to get involved in promoting the upper historic centre, would be delighted to welcome new volunteers who are willing to give up some of their free time for the next edition.
“La Via dei Presepi 25/26, – observes the association’s president, Elisabetta Bandinelli – ended on 6 January with an unexpected and poetic snowfall. Although this prevented us from concluding the initiative as planned with the parade of the Magi and the participation of the flag throwers, it did not dampen our enthusiasm for a rich, beautiful and well-attended edition. As every year, the townspeople appreciated the excellent work of the nativity scene makers and, much to our delight, once again enjoyed a month of strolling through the upper part of our town, discovering old views and panoramas. The nativity scene makers in our association have now formed a team of excellence, both for their manual skills and creativity and for the friendship and unity that has developed between them, ensuring that sacrifice and hard work have always been accompanied and overcome by passion and the joy of being together. And already, we are preparing for the next Via dei Presepi, which we hope will attract even more participants”.
Visited every year by thousands of people from all over Tuscany, “La via dei Presepi” was also a pioneer of a regional network (“Terre di Presepi”) of which Castelfiorentino is a founding member.
