Ten years ago, it was almost undertaken as a “bet” to enhance a square that until then had not been animated by events of any kind. And this year it is celebrating its “Tenth Anniversary,” which in spite of the breaks imposed by covid has confirmed the validity of a choice, punctually repaid by the participation of hundreds of citizens eager to get together in the most traditional way: at dinner, with a rich menu, good food and lots of music. This is the tried-and-true formula of “Notes of Wine,” a musical-gastronomic event held in Piazza Grandi, which this year will take place on Friday, June 13, starting at 7 p.m.
Organized by the merchants of Via Benozzo Gozzoli and Piazza Grandi, in collaboration with the CCN “Tre Piazze” Association and the Municipality of Castelfiorentino, the event is presented as usual as a charitable initiative: in fact, the proceeds of the dinner will be donated to educational projects and activities carried out by voluntary associations.
The dinner will feature a full-bodied menu. To start, mezze maniche with double texture zucchini symphony, turmeric, pecorino cream and hint of Tuscan scents. It continues with risotto aglio olio e peperoncino, anima di ‘nduja e grana cheese and is followed by a grand grilled pork and side of beans in oil with the scents of the garden. A delicious dessert completes the menu. All, accompanied by wines offered by local wineries (cost 20 euros adults, 10 euros children).
Musical accompaniment will kick off as early as 7 p.m. with essays by Maestro Maurizio Centorbi’s percussion class, a concert by Squilli-Brass, the brass band conducted by Jasmine Conti, and will end with a grand finale by the “G. Verdi” Philharmonic, conducted by Stefano Mangini.
Dinner reservations are received at Panchetti Bakery, Macelleria Enzo, Ama Newsstand, Bar Italia and Bar Ciampalini (for information 331.9303075). Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to the Santa Maria della Marca Oratory, San Martino Family Home, Prociv Arci Castelfiorentino, AVIS Castelfiorentino and the “G. Verdi” Philharmonic.
