The 2020 Tokyo Olympics open today and Castelfiorentino will have not only the Italian national team to support, but also one of its own citizens: Alberto Bettiol.
In fact, Alberto has been called by CT Davide Cassani to join the Italian Men’s National Cycling Team along with Damiano Caruso, Giulio Ciccone, Gianni Moscon and Vincenzo Nibali for the road race that will be staged tomorrow, July 24th. A 234 km circuit with 4,865 meters of elevation gain.
In addition to the road race Alberto will be on stage, along with Filippo Ganna, in the time trial on July 28.
Alberto Bettiol in 2019 won the Tour of Flanders, while in 2021 he won the 18th Stage (Stage of Stradella), of the Giro d’Italia.
