| Tuesday 23 July at 5:00 p.m. Guided tour and wine tasting at Castello di Oliveto On the occasion of the 600th year since its construction, the Castello di Oliveto opens its doors to two special initiatives, one in month of July and one in August. The manor can be visited in the company of the professional tourist guide Chiara Carboncini; at the end of the tour, the best of the wine cellars of the castle will be the undisputed protagonist of an excellent tasting conducted by Ms Luisa. The reservation is required and can be made at the Tourist Information Office of Castelfiorentino, sending an e-mail to ufficioturistico@comune.castelfiorentino.fi.it or by telephone on +39 0571629049. The cost of the visit and wine tasting is 30€ per person while for children under the age of 18 the cost is 10€ per person, not including the wines. Place: Castello di Oliveto, via Monte Olivo 6. Tuesday 23 July at 9:30 p.m. Cinema Mario Monicelli “The Chimera” is set in the 1980s in the clandestine trafficking of historical artefacts, fuelled by “grave robbers”. The film tells the story of a British archaeologist Arthur, who becomes involved in the black market of valuable historical artefacts stolen from tombs during excavations. The man is able to perceive the emptiness of the earth, there in the depths of the ground, where there are hidden vestiges of a past world. That emptiness is identical to that which man perceives in his soul, when he remembers his lost love, Beniamina. Wednesday 31 July at 7:00 p.m. Summer in the Centre Second appointment of “Summer in centre”, dedicated to “unpacking in suitcase”: a new evening of food, live music, culture and shopping under the stars.
