A nice barbecue, good wine, lots of music and cabaret. Friday, June 9 sees the return of “Notes of Wine,” a musical-gastronomic event that will take place in Piazza Grandi (in the area facing the Church of Santa Maria della Marca) and that contemplates an inviting outdoor dinner, to spend the evening in merriment. Organized by the shopkeepers of Via Benozzo Gozzoli and Piazza Grandi in collaboration with the CCN “Tre Piazze” Association and the Municipality of Castelfiorentino, the event is presented as usual as a charitable initiative: in fact, the proceeds of the dinner will be donated to educational projects and activities carried out by voluntary associations.
Kicking off the festival at 7:30 p.m. with a tasting of wines offered by local wineries, which will be administered by a sommelier to illustrate their characteristics, followed by dinner and the performance of the first musical pieces (percussion and recorder) by the municipal music school. The extensive dinner menu (cost 18 euros, 9 euros children, drinks included) includes for first course a cacio e pepe risotto with a hint of chives and type and mezze maniche all’isolana with toasted capers and parsley beating, for second course a grilled grill with sausages and rostinciana, side dish beans in oil flavored with Tuscan herbs. For dessert, mantovana with cream and cantuccini.
At the same time (from 9 p.m.) there will be a cabaret show with Matteo Micheli and, from 10 p.m., a double concert by the Bandina Junior and the “G. Verdi” Philharmonic.
Dinner reservations are received at Panchetti Bakery, Macelleria Enzo, Ama Newsstand, Bar Italia, Bar Ciampalini (for information 331.9303075). Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to the Oratory of Santa Maria della Marca, the San Martino Family Home, Prociv Arci Castelfiorentino, AVIS Castelfiorentino and the “G. Verdi” Philharmonic.
“Notes of Wine,” stresses the mayor, Alessio Falorni, “is now known above all as a festival that involves the main square of the area “beyond the bridge” on the Elsa River, and that every time registers a great success in terms of participation, with positive repercussions for the social and volunteer activities that are carried out in our area. For this, I would like to thank the merchants of the affected streets and the many volunteers who have always collaborated in the organization of the festival, along with the farms that also this year have made themselves available for the tasting of their wines.”
The wineries that will be represented at “Notes of Wine” are as follows: Vivito – I vignaioli, Cantina sociale Colli fiorentini, La Poggiarella farm, Castello di Oliveto, Santa Lucia vini Gasparri, Tamburini Emanuela wines, Coiano farm, Le Macchie farm.
