At Ca’ Stellare, the atmosphere of the Palio di Castelfiorentino is already in full swing, with the various districts taking centre stage from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June in a series of unmissable contests. As usual, the event will be preceded this year by a dinner open to all residents, an opportunity to renew and further strengthen – as noted by the organising committee – this wonderful “story of friendships, families and volunteering. A magical adventure that began many years ago and has, in some way, brought us all together and led us to choose to be here for Castelfiorentino”.

The dinner in the run-up to the Palio will take place on Wednesday 10 June at 8.00 p.m. in Piazza Gramsci. The substantial menu (cost €20) includes, as starters, crostini with chicken livers and crostini with vegetables, two wedges of pecorino cheese, two slices of prosciutto, two of Tuscan salami, two of finocchiona, and finally ribollita. This is followed by a first course (paccheri pasta with country-style ragù and Taggiasca olives), a main course (roast veal with Tuscan herbs, beetroot and potato flan, mixed salad), dessert (profiteroles), mineral water, a selection of white and red wines, and espresso (for information and bookings: +39 3314663757).

On the same evening, the Palio’s “Cencio” will be unveiled, created for the first time specifically for this occasion by the students of class 3B of the Graphic Design course at the F. Enriques Institute, following a project coordinated by Prof. Luisella Giacomini.

As you will recall, this year’s chosen theme for the event (“Milestones in History”) lent itself to truly evocative interpretations brimming with inspiration. The students have prepared around twenty proposals, and in the coming days the Palio Organising Committee will decide which one will be used to create the “Cencio”.

The Palio’s theme is extremely inspiring for the contrade, which have been busy for months preparing and staging the most original display, based on the historical period assigned to them. And you can bet that, once again, the public will not be disappointed.
