Success of the initiative promoted by AVIS in collaboration with students and teachers of the ‘Bacci-Ridolfi’ school.
Councillor Giannì: “Great creative ability of our youngsters”.
How can people be made aware of the choice to ‘donate’ blood? This is the question that the pupils of the ‘Bacci-Ridolfi’ secondary school in Castelfiorentino have tried to answer with the short film ‘Il Pandacorno e i Pizzinati’, which was presented last week at the Ridotto of the Teatro del Popolo as part of the ‘Cartoon School’ project, promoted and financed by AVIS Castelfiorentino in collaboration with the Tuscan regional AVIS.
A short film made in collaboration with the teachers (Bacchi Isabella, Cecconi Elena, Billeri Michele, Tognetti Damiano, Crescioli Martina, Bianchi Monica, Rosi Elisabetta) and which was greatly appreciated by all those present.
“The work carried out by sections 1A and 1E,” noted the school headmaster, Prof. Gerardo Di Fonzo, “was considerable, so much so that the students’ commitment extended beyond the school walls. In various steps, the students constructed an elaborate work that was interesting thematically and unique creatively, at the same time internalising the rudiments of the complex art of animation, where the division into working groups accentuated the collaborative and inclusive spirit. The children embraced the project with enthusiasm and curiosity, actively participating and making themselves available”.
“Making the cardboard was not only a moment for developing technical knowledge, but also a juncture to reflect on values of active citizenship and pure solidarity, where ‘giving’ does not necessarily mean ‘receiving’ something in return. Thanks to this experience, the students attained fundamental skills to become future conscious citizens. All this takes added value from the fact of having carried out an activity in collaboration with an organisation like AVIS, which has always pursued noble goals”.
Great satisfaction was also expressed by the Councillor for Schools and Educational Activities, Francesca Giannì
“It was a pleasure to participate in this praiseworthy initiative of the Istituto comprensivo, organised and supported by AVIS Castelfiorentino and AVIS Regione Toscana. The project presented demonstrates our children’s reato capacity for creative production and the remarkable maturity of the class groups in managing collaboration among peers. Special thanks go to the teachers and school staff, for their commitment and daily dedication to our young people, and to AVIS Castelfiorentino, which brings our territory to life, supports our schools and provides a fundamental volunteer service to our community.”
Representing AVIS at the Ridotto were Claudia Firenze (President of AVIS Toscana), Silvia Zannelli (President of AVIS comunale Castelfiorentino) and also Mirko Fabbreschi (musician, creator and teacher Cartoon School).
