On Wednesday 8 and 15 July (7.30 pm–11 pm), shops will be open in the evening to coincide with the start of the “sales”. Four bands will be performing in various locations throughout the city centre.
Evening opening hours are set to begin for shops in Castelfiorentino town centre. The first event of “Castelfiorentino notte”, a summer initiative organised by the CCN Tre Piazze Association, is scheduled for Wednesday 8 July and will also coincide with the start of the “sales”.
The evening will begin at around 7.30 pm with aperitifs and a DJ set in venues across the town centre, which will offer a wide range of food options, including outdoor seating. At the same time, the shops will be open and four bands will liven up the streets of the town centre (from Via Bovio to Corso Matteotti to Via Testaferrata) with their live performances, until around 11 pm. The second event is scheduled for Wednesday 15 July at the same time.
“The evening openings on 8 and 15 July,” notes Paolo Antilli, president of CCN Tre Piazze, “will be two evenings dedicated to shopping, music and socialising, with the aim of encouraging people to return to the historic centre. Shops will remain open until late in the evening, and food and drink outlets will cater for residents and visitors from aperitif time through to after dinner, creating a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere with musical performances scattered throughout the town centre’s streets. These events form part of the packed summer programme organised by local associations and the Teatro del Popolo. The aim is to ensure that, throughout July, Castelfiorentino is a vibrant town, brimming with opportunities to socialise and capable of supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, the summer sales – which start earlier and earlier every year – are taking their toll on local shops. This is why we believe it is essential to organise events that bring people into our squares and shops, offering a much-needed breath of fresh air to local businesses. And the summer won’t end there: on 29 and 30 August, Castelfiorentino will host the regional final of Miss Italia, with the crowning of Miss Tuscany. It will be the grand finale of the summer season, a highly prestigious event that will attract an audience, raise our profile and give a further boost to our town centre.”
