On Wednesday 22 April at Roosevelt Park (5.00–7.00 pm), CONI Toscana will celebrate a sporting year packed with events by welcoming the application from Polisportiva I’ Giglio.

A sports-themed event designed to give all young people aged 5 to 14 the chance to try out various physical activities. This, in short, is the aim of the closing event for the “Centri Coni” project, for which CONI Toscana has accepted the application from Polisportiva I’ Giglio to host the annual event on Wednesday 22 April – from 5pm to 7pm – at Roosevelt Park in Castelfiorentino.

The event, which is expected to attract around 200 participants from across Tuscany (representing 20 to 25 amateur sports clubs and associations), takes the form of a sort of multidisciplinary ‘station-based’ programme, where various physical activities will be demonstrated and practised through games, demonstrations and other new initiatives. An event designed to introduce the younger generation to sport, therefore, but also an educational opportunity for coaches, who will be able to exchange ideas, approaches and different perspectives.

The venue (over 5,000 square metres) will be laid out by dividing the space according to the number of participating clubs, with a dedicated area allocated to each one, identified by a sign displaying the club’s name. Further signs will be placed to guide participants along the route, so that children and teenagers can try out the activities and perhaps refine their preferences with a view to making a future choice. All participants will receive a fun gadget from CONI Toscana and be offered an ice cream by Sammontana. Also as part of the event, participants will be able to try their hand at a circuit set up for testing mini motorbikes.

“We are delighted,” emphasise the Mayor, Francesca Giannì, and the Councillor for Sport, Gianluca D’Alessio, “that the CONI Regional Committee has chosen Castelfiorentino as the venue for this event, which recognises our long-standing commitment to promoting sport, starting with young people. This commitment is borne out by the brilliant results achieved by our clubs and the talented players who have gone on to turn professional. We are therefore grateful to CONI Toscana for accepting the bid from Polisportiva I’Giglio, and we wish to express our sincere thanks to its president, Silvano Comanducci, and the event manager, Tiziano Marzotti, who achieved this result under the supervision of Vittoria Falorni.”
