A new cycle is beginning, characterised by the commitment of the new members of the club to introduce as many children as possible to cycling, not only as a sport but above all to learn how to use this means of transport and perhaps choose it in the future for everyday mobility.
In the spring, school projects are planned to promote cycling in primary schools, followed by the organisation of three sporting events in the municipal area for children and young people.
After this positive and enthusiastic start, the main objective will be to grow gradually and steadily to make cycling one of the most popular sports in Castelfiorentino again.
In addition to the entire club staff, including president Giorgio Rossi, coaches Marco Perciavalle, Lorenzo Friscia and Kristian Sbaragli, technical assistant Michele Buffolino and collaborators Lorenzo Perciavalle and Stefano Falchi, the convivial event was also attended by the vice president of the FCI – Italian Cycling Federation, Saverio Metti, confirming the confidence that the renewed Castelfiorentino club is enjoying at federal level.
“It gives me immense satisfaction”, says Federico Fioravanti, current city councillor and former member of the cycling club, but above all a huge fan of the sport, “to see so many people getting involved to give this club new prospects for growth and, above all, new opportunities for many children to get involved in a sport that is also good practice for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle”.
“As the municipal administration, we can only rejoice at the strengthening of one of the historic sports clubs in our area”, observes the Mayor of Castelfiorentino, Francesca Giannì, “thanks to the constant commitment of many volunteers and a lively economic and productive fabric, all linked by a passion for cycling. The Castelfiorentino cycling club is a privileged partner for us in promoting two-wheeled mobility from childhood onwards, raising awareness of cycling as a sport but above all as a means of transport that facilitates connections while respecting nature and contributing to personal well-being.”
