The Food Festival heats up the… cookers, and makes a stop in Castelfiorentino. From Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd May, the city will host four evenings of street food, music and many other initiatives that will alternate to enrich the festival in a different way.
Organised by Food Festival Italia in collaboration with Pro Loco di Castelfiorentino and the CCN ‘Tre Piazze’ association (under the patronage of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino), the Food Festival will take place in Piazza Gramsci, where some twenty food stands and a ‘synergic’ craft market will be set up. Every evening – in addition – there will be musical entertainment: from live concerts to DJ sets, all with free admission. The shops will also be open after dinner (and will still be open on the afternoon of Sunday 22nd May).
The stands will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday 19th May, when it will be possible to try dishes to suit all tastes to be eaten outdoor and to take-away: Angus, wild boar or Chianina burgers, Sicilian cannoli and arancini, Abruzzo arrosticini, Argentine empanada, first courses (fish or meat, such as the famous Lucca tordello), porchetta and tripe, and bombette di Alberobello. An unmistakable yellow colour will also distinguish the fried food stand, where you will be able to inebriate your palate with cuddles, fried rabbit, fried artichokes, and much more. Also, for those with a sweet tooth, Thai ice cream, crepes, and other delicacies. To quench your thirst, plenty of beer, strictly craft. There will be four different labels, German and Italian.
In the same time, a craft and synergy market will be set up, with live processing. A market that aims to create a communication network made up of synergy and exchanges between artisans, artists, musicians, associations, producers and local consumers with the intention of enhancing the thousand resources of the territory.
The calendar of events is also rich. On Thursday 19th May (9.00 p.m.), two musical groups are scheduled. “Tricotomia” and “L’Ansia di Fred”. On Friday 20th May before dinner (7.00 p.m.) the legendary “Bandaccia”, well known in Valdelsa for its exuberance and the festive and cheerful atmosphere that accompanies it, will break in; at 7.30 p.m. there will be a “Secco” dj set and at 9.00 p.m. a concert by the “Negramaro” tribute band. Saturday 21st May will be an afternoon packed with events to suit all tastes: at 5.30 p.m. a dog show, at 6 p.m. a magic show and at 7 p.m. an Argentine tango performance. At dinner time (8.30 p.m.) there will be the presentation of the “Cencio” of the next edition of the Palio “Ca’ Stellare”, while at 9.00 p.m. Sara Cinacchi will present her album; this will be followed by Andrea Brunini & Band and DJ Freeno. Sunday 22nd May (5.30 p.m.) grand finale with an exhibition of street artists, Andrea Mezzetti DJ selection (7 p.m.) and the live concert of Pompadur, a musical group from Castelfiorentino.

Also this year at the Food Festival, in addition to sophisticated trucks and an all-new craft market, we will have many events. Music, which will keep us company every evening with local bands and others, magic shows, dance shows, DJ sets, a dog show, street artists and much more”.
