Outdoor storytelling and readings. Literary walks to discover the local area and its hidden gems. “Fuori Luogo” kicks off on Thursday 16 July: a programme of special events organised by the Vallesiana Municipal Library for the summer, with the aim of stimulating curiosity and an interest in reading beyond the library’s physical walls.
It all kicks off on Thursday 16th with “Baby Literary Walks: Readings at the Parish Church”, aimed at children (aged 5–10), accompanied by an adult. The meeting point is at 9.00 a.m. at the Vallesiana Library (departure at 9.30 a.m.) for a short walk to the Parish Church of Ss. Ippolito and Biagio, with stories and animated readings along the way. The return to the Library is scheduled for noon, with the opportunity to borrow books (which, we would remind you, is completely free of charge). Pre-registration is required to take part in the event.
“Fuori Luogo – as the Councillor for Culture, Franco Spina, emphasises – was created to promote reading in a cross-cutting way through unconventional experiential and educational opportunities, and to enrich oral storytelling with the linguistic, relational, emotional and identity-related details of the community. It is not just about hearing words, but about touching and seeing them, in order to stimulate new forms of participation and a deep-rooted connection to one’s local area, and to foster culture”.
