On Saturday 27 September (7pm), the series of meetings will conclude with an event that will involve participants in a series of choreographed actions together with dancer Jessica De Masi.

Gesture, dance, choreography of beauty in the form of an “ Alleanza”. This, in a nutshell, is the calling card of the collective performance that will take place at the Be.Go. Museum in Castelfiorentino on Saturday 27 September at 7pm (free admission upon reservation).

The protagonists are citizens of all ages who, after participating in a series of meetings on the transmission of gesture, will be involved in the creation of a sequence of choreographic actions, born from their perception of beauty in the form of Alliance, together with Virgilio Sieni (Italian dancer and choreographer) and dancer Jessica De Masi.

“Forms of closeness,” observes Virgilio Sieni, “create a space that is always unexpected and new: this idea of alliance arises from a poetic and creative agreement that brings wonder, creating discontinuity in everyday discourse to reveal the qualities of friendship and loving filiation. How can we rediscover wonder in visiting certain symbolic places in the city, as well as in a person’s face? What actions should we investigate in order to seek the alliance necessary for the construction of a collective ritual and wonder in the face of a work of art? How can we savour the vertigo of the gesture that intersects with our moods?”

The “Alleanza” project is part of Scollinare – Officine del Gesto / Piccoli Musei 2025, conceived and developed for the metropolitan area of Florence, which revolves around the issue of frequenting and knowing cultural heritage and explores the different ways of inhabiting and experiencing museum spaces.

Virgilio Sieni, Italian dancer and choreographer, internationally active artist, currently directs the National Dance Production Centre in Florence.

Scollinare – Officine del Gesto/Piccoli Musei 2025

This project was conceived and developed for the metropolitan area of Florence and is based on the creation of permanent cultural workshops: spaces for meeting and raising awareness, embarking on a shared journey through memory, tradition and the experiential potential of the local area, always in dialogue with contemporary artistic languages. The project aims to develop the relationship between citizens and cultural heritage and explores the different ways of inhabiting and experiencing museum spaces, with a focus on accessibility and inclusion as forms of good practice for the co-creation of the territory and a sense of community participation.
