On Thursday 30 July, a brilliant comedy by the TeatroCastello theatre company, which invites the audience to reflect on the value of life.
A brilliant, at times surreal comedy which, with irony and humour, invites the audience to reflect on the value of life. This is the premise of ‘La morte non corrisposta’, the final theatrical event in the ‘L’Ora d’Aria’ programme, which the TeatroCastello theatre company will present on Thursday 30 July (9.15 pm – free admission) at the former arena gardens (Via XX Settembre).
Directed by Gabriele Fontanelli (written by Carlo Conforti), the play takes a light-hearted look at one of the themes that has always been part of human existence: our relationship with death. Amidst misunderstandings, puns and paradoxical situations, a diverse cast of characters grapple with the small and large difficulties of everyday life, whilst an unexpected presence bursts into their days.
With a lively pace and intelligent humour, the play transforms common expressions and idioms into opportunities for comedy, offering the audience an ironic glimpse into the fears, fragilities and contradictions of human nature.
The show, starring Chiara Maccioni, Carlo Campinoti, Irene Nacci, Concettina Canniotto, Gabriele Fontanelli and Davide Puleo, is suitable for all ages.
As you may recall, the ‘L’Ora d’Aria’ festival was launched over ten years ago based on an idea by Paolo Puccini, an actor and director from Castelfiorentino who passed away prematurely in 2014, drawing inspiration from the festival’s original venue: the exercise yard of the former district prison in Castelfiorentino.
