Enthusiasts of collecting or vintage items, crafts or antiques can go ahead and make a note of it in their diaries. From October onwards, on the first Sunday of every month, “L’Angolo del Tempo” will kick off – the new market for antiques, collectables, crafts and quality second-hand goods that will bring Piazza Gramsci to life until next summer (June 2027).

The initiative, promoted by the local council in collaboration with the “Pinocchio 3000” association, aims to provide residents with more opportunities to visit Castelfiorentino’s main square even when no other events are taking place there, as well as to attract the attention of the many enthusiasts drawn to the world of collecting, modern antiques and second-hand goods, bearing in mind the success of the numerous websites and social media pages dedicated to this sector.

Each market is expected to feature around forty stallholders, who, throughout Sunday (from 9.00 a.m. onwards), will offer visitors all manner of artefacts and collectables – ranging from high-end items to those within everyone’s reach – such as paintings and prints, books, magazines and comics, furniture, vinyl records, CDs and cassette tapes, second-hand and handmade clothing, coins, postcards and stamps, all clearly displayed on the stalls for potential buyers or even those simply browsing.

In short, there are plenty of opportunities to add to your collection, perhaps even start a new one, track down a record or comic that brings back nostalgic memories, or put together an original gift or a small token for a loved one, safe in the knowledge that they will appreciate it.

Every afternoon, from 3.00 p.m. onwards, L’Angolo del Tempo will also come alive with games, shows and other entertainment for children and families.

“The market,” emphasises Franco Spina, Councillor for Tourism and Events, “has always been a place for socialising, for exchange and for building relationships, which encourages and draws people to make urban spaces their own, to visit them to spend a few carefree hours, do a bit of shopping, or perhaps pursue a passion, an interest, perhaps linked to one’s personal style of dress or the discovery of a particular object from the past that can add a personal touch to one’s home décor. This is why we wanted to enrich the events calendar with a regular fixture, held every month, so as to offer residents and potential visitors a new opportunity to experience our town centre, and in particular the square, which represents its very soul”.
