“Your silent support is the most precious gift you can give. It is a love that helps me remember who I am, even when I forget”. This is how one of the family members wished to remember Marco Locci, who passed away two years ago, yesterday, for whom the 2nd Memorial will be held on Saturday 3 May in Roosevelt Park as part of a “day of sport, friendship and solidarity”.

The evening, which is organised by the family in collaboration with the Polisportiva I’Giglio, the “Fratres” blood donor group and the patronage of the Municipality of Castelfiorentino, will take place in Roosevelt Park at 2.30 p.m., where the “Agricola” event is being held, in which both the Locci Agricoltura company and Marco himself (who worked in the same company) have always been actively involved (Marco, in particular, followed the “Orto in cassetta” project with passion and love with the students of the Comprensivo).

At 3.30 p.m. there will be a “walk for Marco” to the Cambiano sports ground, where Marco Locci kicked a ball for the first time. In this place, full of memories, there will be an opportunity to see photos and exchange small anecdotes concerning his life, by those who knew him at various times in his life, appreciating his character qualities and values.

A snack/dinner is planned at 7 p.m., with music, DJ set and raffle. The participation fee for the event (the snack/dinner, including a souvenir backpack) is 20 euro adults, 10 euro children up to 12 years old. The proceeds will be donated to charity.

“It is a pleasure for us,” emphasises the Mayor, Francesca Giannì, “to join the Marco Locci Memorial for the second year running, both to remember the person, with his values and for what he has given to our community, together with the citizens, and this is also thanks to Marco’s family, which has always been generously involved in various initiatives, including the one to be held on Saturday; secondly, because of its high social value, to create a community through events that have as their aim charity and solidarity towards others.

I am particularly happy with the presence again this year of third sector associations to which Marco dedicated an important part of his free time, and of Polisportiva I’Giglio, which has joined in this second Memorial”.

As you may recall, Marco Locci was a player at Castelfiorentino Calcio, then at Polisportiva Membrino Calcio and finally at Cambiano United, and later a coach.
