“The clown and his educational power”, a whole day of theory, practice and entertainment dedicated to comedy as a teaching tool in schools. This is the theme of the webinar and round table discussion scheduled for Saturday 14 February at the Teatro C’Art in Castelfiorentino, which has been operating in the area for over twenty years and has now become an international theatre and training centre based on body language and, in particular, the application of the comic-relational method. Saturday’s initiative, in particular, offers a theoretical-practical training and entertainment opportunity to explore comedy as a relational bridge in schools, as a pedagogical tool for building interaction, listening and participation in educational contexts.

The webinar and round table discussion – which will take place in the morning (from 10.30 a.m.) – will feature André Casaca (artistic and educational director of Teatro C’art Comic Education), Sandro Bastia (educationalist), Livia Di Pilato (educationalist), Antonella Brighi (full professor of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the Free University of Bolzano), and Susanna Caires (Instituto de Educação da Universidade do Minho, Portugal).

In the afternoon (from 2.30 p.m.), the final conference of the project “ReED__Red Noses in Early Childhood Education” will take place, with the presentation of the project results and the Handbook for teachers, ECEC educators and parents, followed by a theoretical/practical workshop led by André Casaca. The evening concludes (6.30 p.m.) with the show “Juliet” by and starring Stefano Marzuoli. A comic, ironic and poetic show inspired by Shakespeare’s famous character Juliet Capuleti, experienced through the purity and simplicity of the clown’s gaze (for ages 7 and up). The show is free and offered by Fondazione CR Firenze. Reservations can be made from 7 February on the Fondazione CR Firenze platform at this link: https://fondazionecrfirenze.it/la-fondazione-per-te/#prenota-evento.
