Creativity, choreography, gestures, storytelling. On Thursday 12 and Friday 13 March, the Be.Go. Museum will host creative workshops coordinated by Virgilio Sieni as part of the project “Atelier sul gesto: Cacciata”, which will culminate on Friday evening (8:00 p.m.) in the performance “Rito” (Rite), a dance show by the artist’s company.

The workshops, which will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, will allow participants to convey some spontaneous gestures drawn from the figures in the paintings at the Cenacolo degli Agostiniani. The lessons will unfold slowly, traversing iconography and narratives, opening pathways to the discovery of the image through movement. The workshop will give rise to a small choreographed performance involving citizens and open to the public.

At the end of the programme, at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, there will be a performance of “Rito”, a dance show by Virgilio Sieni’s company.

‘We are delighted”, said Franco Spina, Councillor for Culture, “to once again welcome the Virgilio Sieni National Dance Production Centre in Florence to our BeGo Museum with the workshop project 𝐂𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐀 – 𝐀𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨, a new choreographic creation inspired by Benozzo Gozzoli’s frescoes, which reinterprets the traditional artistic gesture of “painting” in its most authentic role as a vehicle for sensations and communication that is more experiential than visual. For a living museum, made up of relationships and people.

Citizens, performers and creative individuals of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are invited to participate. Participation in the project is free of charge upon reservation.
