Sunday 8 November 2026 (1.00 pm) at Caritas in Santa Maria della Marca: a fundraiser
to benefit the San Martino Family Home and the ‘Youth’ helpdesk at the Lilith Women’s Support Centre.
An opportunity to come together and share in the spirit of solidarity behind an initiative designed primarily for young people. On Sunday 8 November, the Unicoop members’ section in Castelfiorentino is organising a lunch at the Caritas canteen in Santa Maria della Marca (Piazza Grandi), with the aim of raising funds for the young people at the San Martino Family Home and the ‘Youth’ helpdesk at the Lilith Women’s Support Centre.
This lunch, therefore, much like other initiatives previously organised by the Unicoop members’ branch, goes far beyond a simple social gathering. It represents a way of reinforcing the idea of a community that looks after its young people, particularly those in difficulty, by organising activities, experiences and projects designed to alleviate their hardship and promote their wellbeing and personal development.
“Every year, as the Castelfiorentino branch of the co-operative,” notes the Chair, Giancarla Armano, “we organise a charity lunch, with all proceeds going towards positive initiatives in the local area. This year, we are focusing on young people who need extra support to face the future, and the proceeds will go to organisations working consistently and diligently in the local area to provide them with the tools they need to cope with life.”
The initiative is sponsored by Castelfiorentino Town Council
“All residents are invited to take part in this initiative,” emphasises Federica Parisi, Councillor for Social and Health Policies, “where solidarity blends with the pleasure of getting together, spending a few hours in good company, and where the conviviality of a lunch is linked to the awareness of doing good. It is also on occasions such as this that a community is strengthened, by investing in the social fabric, in interpersonal relationships and in the future of our young people.”
The cost of the lunch is €22.00 (adults) and €12.00 (children up to 12 years old) and includes a menu consisting of rigatoni alla Norcina, a bean stew with polenta made from yellow cornmeal and crispy black cabbage, peposo alla castellana, cantuccini and vin santo, coffee and drinks.
