On Saturday 21 September, the municipal territory of Castelfiorentino will be crossed by the “Nuvolari” GP, now in its 34th edition, which will see as many as 300 historic cars from all over the world parading. The “Nuvolari” GP is scheduled to start from Mantua on the 20th and finish in Rimini on the 22nd, after crossing a 1100 km route.
On board their vintage jewels, the first crews will appear in Castelfiorentino after 11.00 a.m. (the first passage, according to the organisers, is scheduled for 11.20 a.m.) and will drive along srt 429, then take via dei Mille (ascent Ospedale Santa Verdiana), the SP Volterrana (via Bruno) viale Zanini, and again srt 429 in the direction of Petrazzi. The last passage is scheduled for around 1.20 p.m.
For about sixty minutes, therefore, the opportunity to admire hundreds of cars, whose year of construction is between 1919 and 1981 (as well as a representation of modern Grand Tourers). As many as 35 car manufacturers will be represented: from the Italian Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia, Ferrari and Fiat, to the English Jaguar, Aston Martin, Bentley and Triumph, from the German Mercedes, BMW and Porsche to the French pursangs by Ettore Bugatti. This year, 85 pre-war cars (manufactured between 1923 and 1946) will take part in the event.
The Gran Premio Nuvolari is dedicated to the memory of Tazio Nuvolari, a legend of motor racing and motorcycling, who passed away in 1953. Nicknamed “Nivola”, but also known as the “Flying Mantuan”, Nuvolari was an extraordinary driver, who achieved 69 victories on two wheels and no less than 92 aboard his racing car, distinguishing himself and making himself known all over the world for his doggedness and courage.
The event, conceived and organised since 1991 by Mantova Corse, will take place in compliance with F.I.A., F.I.V.A. and A.C.I. Sport regulations, with particular attention to the safety protocols of the National Sports Federation.
